This project is so easy that I can’t believe I didn’t do it earlier. For my one room challenge reveal last Spring, I wanted to swap out the handles on the closet doors for something in an oil rubbed bronze to match the hardware that I added to the room’s door. I’m not sure why it slipped through the crack, but I think I was concerned about leaving a mark on the door while I tried to remove the old ones. So, I just left them as is for a while longer.
Fast forward to yesterday when I was working on lots of little odd job projects all over the house in celebration of Christmas company coming this weekend! I found the hardware that I had bought for this exact project. Instead of carrying back downstairs for it to live somewhere in my work space for another few months, I decided to swap it out. I used a chisel that I already had on hand for a different project, wedged it in between the hardware and the door, and it popped off so easily!
Next, this is so silly, but I just put the new one in. That’s IT! Hahah, why did I wait so long to do this?? The new one came with little nails that you could hammer through the hardware and into the door, but I didn’t think it was necessary because it was a good fit. Plus, I didn’t want to make this project any harder—this time, or next time.
Such a tiny change, but I’m so happy I finally got around to it! It’s those little things that make you smile. I’m off to continue little projects here and there, like adding more of these magnetic doorstops! Told you I loved them. Happy holidays! Love, Shauna
