Well, I did it. I finally jumped on the letter board train, and I am loving it! The letter boards that are most common at the moment are wooden frames with a felted background inside that allows you to put letters on. The function is really just to create a cute sign in your house. I gave in and bought this letter board from Amazon the other day after reading many reviews about how good the quality was. I’ve been waiting to get a big letter board, but for $20, this was too good to pass up, and more can be done with a small size than I originally thought. I opted for the classic black, even though there are a bunch of other color options.
As a graphic designer by day, you can imagine that I’m pretty picky about letters, fonts, and typefaces. One major flaw to the letter boards is that in the kit I got (and I imagine most of them) the letters were all attached together, much like a model if you ever built those. So, to get your pool of letters, you have to twist them off the main plastic piece, leaving you with a little nub of where it once held on… I couldn’t handle that, so I decided to take a little bit of time, a handful of patience, and some new nail cutters and trimmed those nubs off! For some of the letters that had a flat connection, like an l, t, p, or f, I used a new cuticle cutter. Worked like a charm! It seems like such a small thing to care about, but it makes me so happy. I even sorted out the pieces into separate baggies for consonants, vowels, punctuation, and letters.
I’m hoping that the board will get switched up at least once a week for a giggle or thoughtful reminder. Now, I just need a place to hang it! Love, Shauna

We have on in the front office at my school that says “Welcome back to school! Don’t forget to be awesome.” Ya know, we need reminders sometimes.
I share your excitement, but….nice butt????
Great to hear from you again!
