The title says “guest rooms” but what that breaks down to is the guest bedroom and the guest bathroom. Previously, we’d never had a dedicated guest space, so this area of the house is a large bonus for us. Instead of having to make a room function for multiple purposes like office, tv room, and frequent guest room, there’s going to be a permanent set up in here for family and friends rolling through town (like you!) or dog sitters for when we are out of town. It’s nothing very exciting as an empty room, but I’m so excited to fill the space and have some fun with it, because why not? I’ve already floated the idea of a black ceiling past Matt and it wasn’t met with any opposition! Woohoo!
Adjacent to the guest bedroom is another bathroom. Again, nothing too crazy to see here except a vanity, toilet, and shower, but I’m so glad to be able to offer our guests a little bit more privacy during their stay at Casa Betz.
At the Mt. House the guest bedroom/office/tv room/Matt’s closet room was attached to the one and only bathroom that we had in the unit. See, the bathroom had two exits: one to the main room and one directly into that second bedroom. We never foresaw any problems with that setup until one couple came to visit us. In the morning, we knew one of the two was showering, but after that, he used the direct door to get back to his room. From there, my imagination says that the two of them were going back and forth from their room to the bathroom, getting ready for the day. Meanwhile, Matt and I had to pee so badly, but we didn’t know which room they were in and we didn’t want to bother them! Hooray for a separate bathroom for our guests, for many reasons.
