Hi there! I’m so excited to share a few photos from the morning of our wedding day. Once we got done decorating the venue and running through the rehearsal, the mood in the bridal suite was incredibly relaxed. I wish we had a photo of us all laying on the floor, eating our lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hummus, and vegetables. The guys were upstairs drinking scotch and talking about their next race, as far as I know.
A friend, Kristina, worked wonders on everyone’s hair. That girl put so much more thought and effort into our looks than I could have imagined, and I’m so grateful she was there.
A little back story, Matt and I met in the glass department at Illinois State University while Matt was enrolled in his one and only college-level art class he would take and I was getting a second major in the medium. We weren’t in the same class, but our first interaction was when I helped him in the hot shop one day with a piece he was making. On our wedding day, Matt gifted me with that glass piece that we made together—an abstract pinecone.
I tricked Matt with a small gift of cuff links with the letter “B” on them, but his real gift was outside… We had bought a 1962 Schwinn tandem bicycle for cheap while we lived in Texas and I decided to have it repainted and spruced up. He had NO clue, and it was so fun giving it to him! (I watched from inside because I just had to see his reaction)
Happy thoughts… Be back soon with more! Love, Shauna
